Definition

Slow mode is a Telegram group setting that limits how frequently each member can send a message — for example, once every 30 seconds.

By capping each member's posting rate, slow mode keeps fast-moving chats readable, cools down heated arguments, and prevents any single user (or spammer) from flooding the group.

Admins set the interval and can raise or lower it as activity changes. It pairs well with captcha and anti-spam filters as part of a layered moderation strategy for large communities.
